SIXTH WEEK REFLECTION
Hi everybody,
This week I had the opportunity to read about “Teaching Large Classes”. This article was very engaging to me because as I commented on Nicenet , sometimes I give lectures to the English teachers of my city and the number of people who attend to the Lectures is huge so I have to present the Lectures and “Workshops” in the auditorium of my institution. Well, since there are a lot of people in this place I have to see the best way to reach to each one of them. I think the tips suggested for this article are going to be very useful for me as well as the use of interactive PowerPoint presentations to capture the attention of everybody.
Esteban Mallqui.
Hi Esteban
ReplyDeleteIt is nice that this week you get benefit and I think you are doing great work in teaching large class. It is not easy to handle the class. You are skillful teacher. I never taught large class, the maximum is 20 students in the class if they are advanced. Oh, it is difficult .

Hi Esteban,
ReplyDeleteI have been teaching English for17 years, but only last year did I start doing workshops for teachers. I have to admit it is not the same. I lose my confidence and I don`t feel superior any more. I feel everybody is judging my performance. I use Power Point too when I do these workshops.Does this happen to you too?
I agree that the articles we read are very useful and have a lot of practical value and if we use some of the things suggested we can improve our presentation skills.
My best,
Dragana
Hi Esteban,
ReplyDeleteI agree that this week was very fruitful as it opens up the horizons for the lectures/trainers with the large audiences. Power Point has become a must, but now I've got to know new techniques of making this tool more effective during my work with the class of students or teachers. The exercises suggested make these workshops really interactive. Power Point can be created in so many new ways that it lets the teacher be the moderator rather than a facts giver.
best wishes
